Project Name: Avondale and I-10 Traffic Interchange Improvements

Construction Cost: $5,800,000.00

Description: CS Construction was the Prime Contractor for the City of Avondale to widen Avondale Blvd. at the I-10 Interchange, including the widening of two bridges and installation of soil nails and retaining walls with detailed aesthetic architectural treatment

  • The form liner that was used to create the finished walls had to be custom molded from elastomeric polyurethane rubber to incorporate a multitude of patterns and depths

  • The architectural walls had to be placed with one sided wall forms against the soil nails and reinforcing mats, with limited overhead access at locations beneath the existing I-10 underpass

  • CSCI also managed multiple wet and dry utility improvements and relocations, Portland cement concrete paving, signage, signal and lighting improvements, and landscape improvements while maintaining traffic flow through this busy traffic interchange
